I did the same thing, on both my 9K's, and with similarly pleasing results. I did find that when I used professional trim paint from a body shop supply store, it lasted a lot longer than the generic stuff. Apparently this is because "trim paint" contains some kind of acid that helps it bond to plastic.
My next question: I've been considering painting the front air dam, bottom side trim and bottom rear trim, whatever it's called, in the same silver as the rest of the car, objective being to achieve an Aero look which I find more integrated than the others. Question is, will OEM Saab paint adhere to the smooth plastic of the air dam, and if not, what can be done to help it adhere?
Anybody tried this?
TIA
