so, to pick anyone who reads this up to speed:
92 9000S manual trans 169K
first clutch master goes (pedal on floor)
replaced and works fine again
next week, I lose pedal pressure and bleed clutch
clutch ok for awhile, then i have to bleed again
then i start noticing fluid under trans
bleeder seemed tight, so i don't think it was leaking
then it gets to the point where it doesn't last a day
so last weekend replaced the slave, master to cm hose, and the flex portion of the slave to cm line.
bled and it worked great!
then clutch started sticking
bled again and it worked great!
then 36 hours later, clutch had lost a little pressure :(
i start pressing on it back and forth, and i lose some more pressure :0 !!
checked fittings: was able to get about 1/8 turn on the metal line into the c.master and 1/8 turn on the metal line from the slave into the flex line running to c.master
bled it again, and it's the best so far!
so far...
i also moved the clamps on the new master to c.master hose to the lip portion of where the hose fits and tightened just in case air could leak in there (but it doesn't seem to be under pressure there, right?)
anyway, so far it seems ok again, the last bleed had the most pressurized fluid coming out of the slave bleeder, BUT...
if this happens again, what am I looking for?
slave seems totally dry, and i never saw a fluid leak from any of the line connections
could the (new) clutch master be bad?
or be messed up from running with the old hoses for a couple weeks??
could that 1/8th of a turn left to tighten have been the culprit??
tune in later, same saab time, saab channel, i'm sure...
