The ABS system is always running self-tests. One of the tests is to compare the resistance of all the four sensors with each other. My guess is that is the fault you're seeing, although there are a bunch of other possibilities.
If you want to do a little work yourself, while you have the cover off to do the heater core, check the ABS sensors. On the driver's side (US), you'll find the ABS box, and there are four sensor connectors in the area. The sensor connectors look like black plastic pencil-thin cylinders. Pull them apart (one at a time to avoid confusion) and you'll see two connection. Use an ohmmeter to measure the sensor side. It should be around 1200 ohms or so. Measure each of them. If one is way off, such as an open circuit, you've found the bad sensor. If they all seem the same (give or take a hundred ohms or so), clean the contacts with some contact cleaner. Also, remove the 'harmonica' connector on the ABS box, clean the contacts, and reattach.
If that fixes the problem, great. If not, about all you can do is bring it to a dealer and have them read out the codes. There is a lot that can go wrong in the ABS system, and you'll save a ton of time by finding out the code(s).
