But that all may simply cause the SRS light to come on. Simplest thing, if you REALLY don't care if you have an airbag, is to remove the SRS warning light's bulb.

I just replaced the harness to my left front airbag sensor on my '93 Aero. Sensor's mounted on the top of the left front fender, inside the engine compartment. Did NOT replace the sensor itself. So far, after my Indie cleared the old error codes, light's still out, but this was only done yesterday. If the light comes back on, I'll bite the bullet and replace the darned sensor, too.

The wiring harness was $120, I think, got it from Steve in Roberti's parts deparment. Amazing he even had that part in stock. You'll need the PSI document from SAAB that gives clear instructions on what to do, a boatload of patience and a bottle of Aleve -- have to manipulate your body into positions mother nature didn't intend. Four hours of work for the novice me.

Also, you'll need a pin removal tool to get the old pins out of the connector at the SRS ECU end; popping in the pins from the new harness is the easiest part of the project. SRS ECU is behind the center console.

Also note that you'll need to disconnect the battery for at least 30 minutes, with the key in the "off" position, before you do this job. And once you're done, you'll need your Indie to clear the old SRS error codes with an ISAT or TechII.

For what it's worth, that was my approach. Driving with all the crazies here in Atlanta, the airbag protection is important to me.
