my di burned up today, wife got stranded with car running horribly, i put in my spare, and the car runs fine now, except that while the idle, engine is smooth, there is an occasional hiccup or heart murmur like skip at idle through rpm's (haven't been on highway, just around town).
like rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr r rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
i always felt like this car, 93 9000CSE, ran less than optimal with my spare di, but my 92 seemed ok with it...
is this a sign my spare has faults?? or did running the car with the di failure screw something up?
i'm going to swap the spring section to see if that has anything to do with it, and clean off any burnt dielectric grease that i didn't get this afternoon when the engine was hot and we were in road repair mode
