Salutations:

Being that this is the first winter with the Trionic system, I am unfamiliar with it's idiosyncrasies - any thoughts would be appreciated ('93 5 speed TCS 9000 Aero).

I am getting an occasional sputter and fluctuating dash lights (idle through 2,500rpm). Sometimes takes a second extra to start - power locks don't seem all that snappy either.

Given winter is setting in here on the stormy North Atlantic, I assumed it needed a maintenance charge or a fresh battery, but it seemed to get better despite getting colder over the past couple of days. I got battery load tested out of the machine just to make sure because a low amperage situation can be as tough on Trionic as a high one as I understand it.

Given an earlier experience, I don't much trust the dash voltmeter in these sort of situations either - but it intimates 13.6-9 rolling along - around 9 after start.

So onto the alternator. It's putting out about 50amps at the battery, which I think should be closer to 115 for this year and model. Can anyone confirm this?

I would also like to test the DI for resistance or any other visual irregularities - any suggestions or details on that before I put into Halifax Autosport for a spritz and an alternator rebuild.

Anyway - best wishes for the season brothers and sisters. No real snow or sleet to test the new DS2 tires yet, will report in as weather goes wicked proper in Nova Scotia.
