Almost two weeks have passed since the accident (two Thursdays ago), only today I saw the police accident report. During this time I was out of the country for almost 10 days since the day after the collision. There is a NJ 39:4-123 charge against driver #2 (the other party) and none against driver #1 (me). The charge was improper left (right) turn.

Since AllState was not going to do anything for me with my liability only insurance, I called his insurance company. Prior to this I have very low expectations. It has not been raised much. Although I have received a solicitation letter from an ambulance chaser who wants to represent me on contingrncy basis. His insurance company asked me to go to its authorized body shop to get an estimate. I envision it an exercise of futility. After some calling around, I got prices for a complete nose around $1,700 parts only plus shipping from junk yards. And that's not even considering matching color. It is simply not possible any body shop will want less than the market value of the car to repair it. At 176k miles, the 94 cs is as good as lost from insurance stand point. Just don't know how the insurance wants to handle it.

It has a new fuel pump in September. A new set of rotors a month ago and a new oem O2 sensor a week before the accident. Problem is I can't afford to have an eye sore in the driveway in a town 30 miles away from NYC. I don't want to part it out piece by piece even though it shares parts with my other two 94's.

Well I am getting ahead of myself not knowing what will happen to it. I'd very much like to return it to shape if it is repairable (by a shadetree mechanic). It may not worth more than $3k to insurance but the alternative (replacing with a comparable MY 9k) is more expensive I am sure.

Meanwhile, I am driving wife's 94 cs turbo to work. What a joy! Parts for the 94 cde auto to 5 speed conversion should hopefully all arrive this week. With short days and bitter cold temperature, I don't know when I can complete it.
