Local NAPA had awesome split flange clamp Posted by huey [Email] (#1023) [Profile/Gallery] (more from huey) on Thu, 16 Dec 2004 14:18:51 In Reply to: 9000 broken exhaust flange/clamp - any easy fix?, aaron, Tue, 14 Dec 2004 11:03:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I looked for this for at least a year, and found it at a local NAPA store, after checking at least 6 others (some also NAPA). It was a little pricier, like $18, but it is split in two, and comes with a pair of 1/4" bolts and nuts to hold it together. These go crosswise of the direction of the exhaust pipe. I pickup up the 2-1/2" size for the connection aft CAT, and used a bench grinder on the mating surfaces to get just the exact fit. Did the same with a 2" for my rear muffler connection. Believe it or not, my 92 9K Turbo has 195K and I reused the muffler. The made the OEM mufflers out of some good stainless!!! But the clamps were all but gone after many NE winters. HTH, HUEY
