I love this website, I have been able to research tons of info, however, maybe too much info. I've read many posts on upgraded exhaust kits.
It seems there is a difference of opinion on what produces the most usable power. A Full 3" system will ultimately yeild the most horsepower, but it will suffer from mid range responsiveness.
I understand a 3in Dp and cat with a stock exhaust will yeild slightly less high rmp hp, but have a better responsiveness and more low end torque. Is this true?
I have a 1995 9000 Aero 5spd I will upgrade ECU after I handle the exhaust. I'm not looking for ultimate horsepower since I rarely go beyond 4500 rpms, but I do want strong torque and a quicker spoolup.
I'm hoping after the ECU upgrade I'll see around 275hp and around 300lb-ft consistently. What is the best approach to take?
I've also seen other posts about MBC as a solution to this rather than a DP. I'm open to that as well. Thanks again for all your help, this website is remarkable. I love it.
