In general you have two choices.....totally relying on a dealer's service dept. to keep your car in good reliable condition and paying rediculous costs or spending some of your free time reading all past emails in these archives on the 9000-V6 idiosyncrasies(sp?). If you go the reading route, you will then get a feel for what your car needs as it gracefully ages:-). I guess a 3rd option is call around and try to fing a wise independent SAAB technician that understands things like checking cam belt tensioners and idler pulleys each time he(or she, although unfortunately unlikely) sees the car. I have a 4 cylinder and have always been curious about the exotic saab V6. In general, a bit of your curiosity with things mechanical will eventually allow you to better deal with your 9000, and actually any car you own in the future.
best of luck,
my 3 cents,
Dana
