Yes, pressurizing the brake fluid reservior and venting out of the slave will work. This is the recommended method.
As a warning, I had the same problem on my 93 CSE (pedal goes to and stays at the floor). I replaced the master, didn't help. Problem was in the slave cylinder, which is far more involved for fixing; might as well do the clutch while you're at it (and the rear lower control arm bushings, ball joints, etc).
Check for leaks near the slave, or in the line that heads to it. Hope you'll be all set with the master. As I recall, mounting it to the car can be an anoying experience. One of the 10mm nuts is hard to access, and installing the clip that holds the pedal to the pushrod can be troublesome if you are larger than a child (not much room down under).
