Radiator drain plug

Received the last piece of the puzzle for my 94 cde auto to 5 speed conversion on the last day of 2004. Rum's garage sent the driver side drive flange via next day delivery so I can start putting things together on New Year day.
I tipped the drive train on the lift with the transmission up to remove the smaller driver side drive flange to install the larger one, hoping by tipping it trans oil won't leak out. Still about half a quart did. Exactly how much I have no idea. I poured half a quart more to replenish it. So my first question: Is over filling or under filling the 5 speed transmission oil bad?
Juggling between a bathroom remodleling project and this conversion, the bathroom takes higher priority. Still I managed to drop the drivetrain in the car Saturday afternoon. The various parts have been sitting in the garage too long. I forgot where I put the radiator drain plug. Is this a dreaded dealer parts?
