...the sensor (at least on my '93 Aero) is just in front of the battery, mounted on top of the left front wheel well. Simply remove the grey plastic connector from the sensor and spray both with electrical contact cleaner. That might help (didn't with me).

Next thing to try, if that doesn't help, is to unscrew the sensor and clean the contact point on its base and on the mounting point -- perhaps the ground is compromised, and if so, this could help.

If THAT doesn't help, try cleaning the contacts on the SRS ECU and its harness with electrical contact cleaner. They're located behind the center console -- pull out the carpet panel on the side on the center console (passenger side). If you try this, be SURE to disconnect the battery for AT LEAST 30 minutes before disconnecting the SRS and its harness.

Ultimately, I had to replace the harness with a retrofit that SAAB later issued. This was the fix for me. You can obtain the part from Roberti SAAB -- they're the only folks who seemed to have this part in stock.

Be aware that you're going to have to have the SRS codes pulled and cleared each time you try another fix. That's the only way to extinguish the light. Disconnecting the battery won't do it. That's really the FIRST thing you need to do. Then, if the light reappears, try some of these fixes.

I don't think that having the battery disconnected for a long period of time is the likely cause of your problem.

Good luck!
