At the very rear of the spare tire well, at the top, you'll see a little metal lip sticking out. If you turn the screw on the jack so it is as absolutely as flat as possible, you can stick the jack in with the top of the jack just sliding under the lip. You can then open the jack a little, and that will hold it in place. This is much harder to do than to say.
Alternatively, you can wrap the jack in an old piece of blanket and toss it in anywhere it fits. This is good because the blanket cushions it from banging around, and gives you something to sit on when you change the tire. And since chances are good that if you do manage to get the jack to fit in properly, it will eventually come loose.
I like using a full-size spare, as the extra size wedges the jack in place.
