Measure voltage at black wire to check controller

You can also just put a small 30AWG wire in the black wire of the blower motor connector and measure the voltage on it while you put the blower speed on high. It should be within a couple volts from ground. If you reduce the blower speed, the voltage will rise, until the point you turn off the fan, when it should show battery voltage.
My blower motor controller failed, and as an interim measure to restore heat, I tapped into the black wire on the blower side of the connector, and connected it to ground, which turns the blower on max speed whenever the car is on. I'm using the fuse contacts in the glove box as a switch when I want to turn it off- I can also get a medium fan speed by connecting the fuse block contacts with a fused 1/2 ohm power resistor, just like the blower motor resistors used before the ACC setup. Works well enough that I'm in no rush to fix the blower motor controller-
