GENE,
It is a 1991. When when I installed the new check valve & O rings for the check valve. I did run the car before puting it back together. I have not looked in there since DECEMBER 12th.
Let me ask the Question a different way. Does the fuel pump cover help contain the fumes? Or does the fuel pump cover just /only protect the fuel pump?
If it's just to protect the fuel pump I think I have a bad fuel pump O ring.
The foam under the fuel pump cover edge has been torn away in some spots and thats what led me to think the cover keeps some of the fumes from goining into the cabin area. on the other hand if you would get no fumes without the cover, I would have a leak somewhere.
The fumes are not overpowering 80% of the time there is no fume smell at all. It is usually first thing in the morning, or sometimes (not everytime)when I crack a window while I'm driving.
Thanks for your replys they are very helpfull.
