would be to mount a scoop in either of two place, in front of the radiator behind the driver's side of the open grill, or beneath the bumper in an opening in the air dam.
when i bought my 69 442 many many years ago, it had large air scoops beneath the front bumper that fed air through 6" (i recall) air hose (like dryer hose) to the dual snorkel air cleaner. in the late 60's olds claimed the setup was good for at least 30 hp. i traded them, stupidly, for a bunch of parts i needed at the time and now repros are several hundred dollars, anyway, that is one of my models, in a smaller scale
if i mount it behind the grill, i'd get less road dust (a problem with the 442 setup) and my air filter would live longer, and i'd have a shorter hose that would travel into the engine compartment from around the radiator behind the headlight into the horn like opening of the air box
if my understanding is correct, it's better to go from smaller opening to larger (reverse funnel) rather than large to small, so I'd use a small scoop into a 1.5" hose into the air box
i'm not sure how much force effect would remain after flowing through the box and filter, but i imagine the air would be cooler and i'd have some force effect. i guess i could test with my vacuum cleaner on exhaust (must be 100-200 mph)
anyway, that's the idea
