Dealer almost always says "throttle body." A reflex. Not necessarily the case -- lots of cases of misdiagnosis on that one when in fact the problem is the $80 safety valve on your firewall.
When are you experiencing limp-home mode? If the car won't even start and idle correctly, it may not be the throttle body.
Do a search on TCS on this board and you'll find plenty of info on the system and its foibles. If you can give more description of your symptoms and under what circumstances they occur, we can probably weigh in with more specifics.
As to the 1.5 hours, if all they did was recalibrate, they're overcharging you. On the other hand, if they did some diagnosis and fault finding, 1.5 hours seems reasonable. And if they did invest 1.5 hours of testing and probing, THEN came back with a diagnosis of your TB, it's more likely they're correct.
They may still be correct; it's just that, as I say, many dealers who don't see many of these cars anymore just leap to the throttle body conclusion almost automatically.
