CV Joint Questions

The '95 CS Automatic I'm acquiring needs front CV boots. I think they have been open a while, so I suspect the joints themselves may be on borrowed time, although they aren't making noise. Won't know for sure until I get in there. The inner boots look OK. However, at 138,500 miles I figure it might just be better to replace the whole axle and get rebuilt inners and outers and not have to think about this for a while.
But I haven't done CV joints before. (I've only needed 2 or 3 on all my front drivers since 1978 and I had my indy of the time do them.)
So my questions:
What do you all think of the rebuilt axles (like those from eEuroparts). Price actually seems low at about $90 each. Are they any good? I'm wondering that for an LPT car they might be fine. Any experiences out there? How about other sources?
Quasi has a procedure that makes sense but only does the outer joint. (Although I question his "kick the sh!t out of it" re-installing approach!)
Haynes has a much different one that has you remove the whole axle, which lets you do the inner boot if you want or as a preventive maintenance.
What are folks here doing?
Thanks for all input!
Noel
