The center spindle nut has to be tightened to 207 ft-lbs, and Saab is not kidding on this. The clamping force between the shoulder of the CV joint and the nut flange are what holds the wheel bearing together. Saab recommends replacing the axle nut once it has been removed, and after having one come loose, I am starting to become a believer.
When the bearing is loose the wheel cocks slightly and the brake disk rubs up against the dust shield. My recommendation is to get a new axle nut, jack up the car (to unload the bearing), tighten the new nut as much as you can without knocking the car off of the jack stands, lower the car, then tighten the nut to the right torque. It is hard to find a torque wrench that goes up to 207 ft-lbs, although they are available. If you are going to guess on this, you will have to apply 140 lbs of force on the end of a 18 inch breaker bar.
If you re-torque the nut and it doesn't fix the problem, then you are looking at replacing the wheel bearing. Costly, at $125 for the part, but straightforward, because the bearing is sold only has part of a hub assembly.
