on where you buy them and who puts them in.
I buy almost all mine from eEuroparts.com. My indy (who lets me bring in my own parts) is usually impressed with the prices I pay. They are fairly close to what he pays from a wholesaler and sometimes much better. Other TSN sponsors also have good prices.
Saab parts can be costly--they simply don't have the same economy of scale as a Toyota or Chevy. But I find that if you use genuine Saab or OEM equivalents they are very durable and pretty much worth the money. Also, always consider used parts. I just got a complete headlight wiper assembly on eBay for $48 (motor, shaft, arm, blade). I got a windshield washer /wiper stalk for $18 and a spare remote for $25.
One advantage of the 9K is that while not common, there are enough of them around so parts aren't too bad to come by and if you shop you can find reasonable prices. Still the more you can DIY, the more you save. There are cheap parts that can cost a lot to install, like a t-stat. $25 for the part, $100+ labor at many shops.
Sounds like a nice Aero. Keep us posted.
