How you can, and why you don't want to. Manual or ACC, it's the same blower motor housing, blower, flaps. The manual has knobs that turn gears and pull wires. All the ACC does is use servos to turn gears and pull wires. You can even put the resistor pack in to a blank on the ACC motor housing. The manual control panel fits in the same place as the ACC.
That's the good news. The bad news is that you will need to remove the blower motor housing in order to do the retrofit. And not on just one car, but on both. The good news is that you only need to put one back together. There are clamps, wires, and geardrives that have to move from the manual to ACC car, and they mount on the back of the housing.
Now, if you had the blower out to replace the motor, or re-do a heater core, and were in the mood for some adventure, I'd say go for it. But the heater core/blower motor isn't much fun. For the price of a used ACCII unit (which you take in the '93), you'll be MUCH happier.
