One, there could be a short in the BPC system that keeps frying them. The ECU could also be involved in this.

Two, you could just be installing bum BPC's. You state that they're used. How many miles are on them? Where did they come from? Could that original car have had a problem with the BPC system? Buying used parts is like playing Russian Roulette. Sure, the parts are much cheaper, but how's the quality? You never know.

Have you tried cleaning any of those BPC's before throwing them out? If so, and that didn't help, then you should buy a new one.

One bad experience I had was with a brand new Bosch O2 sensor. Installed it (since my original one was shot and causing the CEL to illuminate), and continued to have problems with the CEL and boost. I spent 2 months locating the source of the problems until I figured out it was the brand spanking new sensor. Who woulda thought? Put another new one in, and all was resolved.
