What do you guys think about pulling the switchpack, letting it sit overnight in a mild solvent like alcohol or ammonia which would dissolve the crud, then drying it thoroughly, maybe with compressed air, and reinstalling? Sounds to me like if it worked, it would be a lot easier than messing around with taking the switches apart. Any danger in doing this? Would it work? Anybody ever tried it? (I ain't goin' first...)
I'm asking the question because this seems to be a constant problem, what with the switches mounted where coffee, slurpees, and who knows what else can find easy access.
