ABS activating below 15 MPH

After removing and reinstalling axles for CV boot replacement, the ABS activates at speeds below 15 mph. The wheel-speed sensors were all gummed up and I of course cleaned them.
I've never had ABS problems before this repair and am pretty confident that neither sensor was damaged.
Any ideas as to the culprit? Can the ABS system be reset somehow and if so is it as simple as disconnecting the battery?
