Exactly the same conditions as you state, very cold temps. The latch sticks and won't catch, so when you shut the door it just bounces right open again. (Hint: keep some good bungees on hand. It won't make it much safer to drive but at least you'll be able to rig something up so that the doors will stay sort of shut.) Apparently it can be dealt with by opening up the door panel and lubing the interior locking mechanisms...this is an easy DIY for some people, but not me as I have no garage or driveway to work in...and I'm told that once you get the sticky locks lubed up, USE THEM to help prevent further freezes, as my back doors (less used) were more problematic than my front doors.
