You can really drive yourself nuts worrying about that kind of thing and the truth is that there really isn't much you can do. Even if you find a way to protect it from one thing, something else will get you. About the only sure fire way to truly protect a car is to keep it locked in a garage, which sort of misses the point of having the car. My dad had a '55 T-bird that had a professional frame off restoration that was so totally perfect it won "best of show" in every show it was in. He didn't dare drive it and he worried about it so much everytime he took in out that he eventially sold it. Owning it stopped being fun. It's just a car, if you drive it's inevitable it'll get knicks and chips and door dings. Do what you can to avoid it, have good insurance and when something happens get it fixed. Thinking about it too much isn't a good thing.
