Hard to start when warm PLEASE HELP!!! Posted by Devin [Email] (#2469) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Devin) on Tue, 8 Mar 2005 14:19:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My '91 9000 turbo takes about 3-4 seconds to start when cold. However, when I drive it so it warms up and then leave it sit for about 20 minutes or so, it becomes very difficult to get running. I will try to start it but it will just chug and sputter sounding like it needs more gas; sometimes it will start but the rpms will fall and again it sounds like the engine is deprived of gas. When the car starts up it runs fine and doesnt stall or anything. The mechanic told me that there might be a "dead spot" in the fuel pump and that the required fuel pressure is not there. Could this be fixed by a new fuel pump or could it be the 02 sensor. Also the car is getting very bad gas mileage, could this be related?
