Put a black DI in. T7 DI's do work in T5 cars. It's rather rare for a '98 T7 car...in the 9-3, T7 wasn't introduced until 2000 (except '99 Viggen) and there are very few '98 9-5s floating around. 9000's were T5. Of course this in US market I'm talking about, abroad is probably varied. Ecopower was just a name...I guess you could consider many of the modern 2.3's and 2.0's Ecopower? When it changes to Ecotech is where its different.
My only point in this ramble is that its possible that its a regular 9000 2.3 T5 engine and its possible that it could be a drop-in job. But you need to find out more info about the engine.
