PS hose and electric diagnosis

One day before spring officially arrives, it is a sunny day and quite warm in New Jersey. I am anxious to start working on my SAAB's coming out of hybernation.
The 94 CDE I completed the auto to 5 speed conversion in January still has some issues. The power steering had a leak which sprayed PS fluid all over the garage floor. That was three months ago. Plus the brake lights are on without the key in ignition.
Findind the source of the leak was easy. I poured more PS fluid into the reservoir and took her out for a spin with the passenger side wheel liner removed. Still I had to guess after coming back for a spin around the neighborhood by judging the location of the laek. I was lucky. I guessed right. It was the high pressure hose from the power steering pump. Inside the foam insulation the pressure hose had a pin hole leak. The wrecked 94cs came in handy. I replaced the hose in 40 minutes and gave the engine another hose down after cleaning the grime.
The electrical issue is not that simple. At least not to me. I don't even know where to start aside from checking the brake switch and pulling the fuse for the rear parking light, both of which didn't do any good. I need to develop a logical and mothodical approach to diagnose this problem and I need help. Meanwhile I have to pull the battery cable so not to drain it.
