OK, getting closer. The servo motor for the distribution drum is actually good (thank God, given the price of them) but it's not making a very good contact with the gear that drives the distribution flap. Pushing the motor around with my thumb I can get it to work, but when I tighten the screws down, it seems kind of precarious. Don't know what could have caused this.
I've decided to leave it for now, just to get the car back up and running.
Question for those who have done this: There's a bracket connected to the firewall that seems to support the lower part of the dash, passenger side, with a piece of styrofoam-like material. How do you get it out? It's not connected to the airbag as I previously thought. Seems bolted through the firewall.
Without getting that bracket out of there it's almost impossible to get the ducts back in.
Ideas?
