Of approximately $38 plus labor (and that's free if you do it yourself).
You just need new governor seals -- VERY easy job. That's assuming, of course, that the car will go into the proper gear if you shift it manually (i.e., start the car off in the "1" position, click it to the next gear when necessary, etc.).
If it turns out that governor seals are not your problem, then I believe a 93 transmission would fit, but that it must also come from a turbo. 94 and on are NOT compatible.
You can get governor seals, a bolt that's required, and instructions on how to do the job from Ericksson Industries, the acknowledged Saab auto transmission authorities. I am virtually certain I've misspelled that -- do a search on auto transmissions and you should eventually find the proper spelling. Go to their website where you'll find their number.
Good luck and let us know how you make out!
