It is located on the front of engine block (toward radiator) close to the transmission.
Those sensors gets sensitive to heat when going bad and die when the engine is really hot and come back to life when everything is cooled down.
The CKP sensor provide a signal so that the fuel pump starts and a spark is produced.
If you measure resistance over pin 1 and 2 of the sensor (sensor disconnected from engine harness) when it is piping hot it should not be more than around 600-650 Ohm. Nominal value when cold is 540 Ohm.
