Driving calmly down a smooth road at 40 mph, my pretensioner went off. I thought someone had shot out my rear window, but the tighter seat belt and the smell told me what it was. Now I have no SRS light at all. ONly the driver's pretensioner fired.

I'm just concerned about the airbag both inadvertent and in a crash. The service life for military cartridge activated devices is on the order of 3 years. This pretensioner was 12+ years old. Generally the cartridges get more volatile and less potent as they age.

I'll try replacing the belt and have the system read.
