Oil viscosity should have nothing to do with the leak. If you've got a gap that oil can get through, warm oil of just about any viscosity will get through. Short of running grease or Crisco in the sump. I don't believe in using any oil leak additives.
You say the dipstick is dry all over. At the very bottom of the dipstick tube, it fits into the block with an O-ring. And at the top, it is held down with a bracket. If you can follow the dipstick tube all the way down to where it fits into the block and be sure that there is no leak, then it could be elsewhere.
The trouble with oil is that it rarely drips down under where it is leaking. It follows all sorts of surfaces until it reaches a local low point.
A front crankshaft main seal usually leaks just inside and aft of the front right wheel. Output shaft seals usually leak out the bottom of the tranny at the bell housing. Not every time, but usually. The oil pressure sensor is tucked up by the intake manifold, just above the alternator. Don't confuse it with the coolant temp sensor, which is horizontal and under the intake manifold; the oil pressure sensor is straight up and down, and right by the upper engine mount bushing.
I'd take some old rags and degreaser, and wipe down as much of the engine as possible. You want a paper towel wiped over a surface to come away somewhat clean. Then run the engine, and wipe the surfaces down with a clean paper towel, and see where it's dirty.
