There are two "grain of rice" size incandescent lamps behide the liguid crystal display. They are relatively easy to get at. Once you have the radio out and the case off the front portion with all the buttons and lamps unplugs from the rest. The lamps are soldered in place and they have green plastic caps that act as filters. Quite some time ago I replaced a burned out one with the 60ma 12 volt bare lead lamp that Radio Shack sells. It is not quite as bright as the original. If anyone knows a source of brighter 12 volt lamps of that size please let me know. I would like to replace both lamps with brighter ones. Another alternative is to leave off the green filters which I might try if I ever get time.
