So I was on my way home from work yesterday when I stepped on it to merge onto the freeway and all of sudden it seemed like the engine was revving quicker than the car would move. It’s almost like when you’re driving on a wet road and the car hydroplanes. I watch the rpm’s and boost gauge shoot up but it takes a second for the cars movement to catch up. This is not behavior that I’m used to. Then a few minutes later I noticed this strong odor in the cabin. It smelt like burnt wiring or something along those lines. So I shut the car down for a few minutes and it went away. The car seems to be running fine and it only exhibits this strange behavior under semi-hard to hard acceleration.
Would the loss of one of the pulleys cause these symptoms?
Any ideas would be great appreciated! Thank you all in advance!
