I have three keys for my wrecked 94cs which I am parting out. I was thinking to switch the lock cylinders to my other 94 cde which I have only one key. Plus the cde driver front lock has the key cover missing. I asked this question a few weeks ago how to remove the lock cylinder on the center console because I find very skimpy info in the archive how to do it.

With luck on my side, I did it this weekend.

The center console lock cylinder puzzles one who tries to remove it. But it is very simple. Learning from a past archive, I open the console cover 180 degrees. This reveals a hole on the bottom of the lock. I simply tap it with a punch (about 1/4" diameter flat end) using the hammer and out came the lock cylinder. But I forgot to put the key in the lock first. Inserting the key in the lock prevent the lock tabs and springs from coming loose. So when the lock cylinder came out, three out of five springs and tabs came flying out. Luckily I was able to retrieve these tiny pieces of springs and tabs to put each one back in its correct slot in my first try (out of six possible combinations).
