It detected a fault Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Fri, 22 Apr 2005 11:56:34 In Reply to: ACC code, Max, Fri, 22 Apr 2005 11:35:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The ACC system thinks there is a fault - the 1 indicates one fault. This may be a real fault, or just something lying around. If you do the self-test and it happens again, you have a few choices-
-Ignore it, assuming the ACC is still working to your liking.
-Disconnect the battery for a while, and see if that clears the fault. You'll also need your radio code.
-Go to the dealer or well-equipped Indy and have him read out the code. You need special equipment (ISAT) to read out ACCII codes.
If something isn't working properly, and repeated self-test/recalibrations aren't fixing it, about all you can do is visit the dealer on this one. But if things are working OK, it might be something like a bad sun sensor (the smoked hemisphere on the dash top). The sun sensor adjusts for extra solar gain, and if it were dead, I doubt you'd miss it. But if the recirculation flap or input temperature sensor is bad, you'll miss it.
