The clunk is gone...

Apologies to B.B. King. I've followed this board for several years and have paid my dues...so to speak. The 'clunk' was bringing me down.
The front rear lower contorl arm bushing was the culprit.
The symptom: on hard acceleration ('91 CD Turbo Auto) I could feel (under my left foot) and hear a clunk.
While replacing a sticking right front caliper I ordered the regular stock replacements for the front rear control arm bushings.
FYI, the procedure:
1. Jack up car and remove wheel (insert normal precautions here)
2. Remove plate that covers said bushing (2 front & 2 rear, 14 & 15 MM socket will do)
3. Remove aft bushing nut. You will need an 18 MM wrench - you can slip the closed end around the nut to break it free, but it may become trapped the further you unscrew it.
4. Apply leverage with a suitable pry-bar (I used the lug nut wrench) to 'lower' the rear arm to clear the nut and remove the bushing.
5. Inspect the remains before proceeding. The internal sleeve to the old bushing may be stuck on the rod. If so, crank it loose with a vise grip (you'll throw it away). On mine, one stayed on and was stubborn, one didn't.
6. Reuse the lever to pry the arm down enough to slip on the new bushing (hole orientation was obvious with my stock replacement).
7. Tighten aft nut and replace cover plate.
The clunk is gone, but now that I have had a look at the condition of the other rubber bits in the suspension, I'll be working on the 'creaks' next.
