I know I'm jinxing myself, but I will make the case for doing things as they are needed. This should be filed under John Sebastian's 'Cheapo Cheapo Productions'; not to be confused with good common sense.
My cabin fan went 'on high' two years ago. I resoldered the blower motor controller with a new resistor without effect (bad soldering skills, no doubt). I pulled the fan, realized it ran and put a temporary switch in the cabin to run it. I bought a replacemnt controller on e-bay and it worked fine for a year. The fan ultimately died and I replaced the motor ($60). Things ran well for awhile. Now the replacement controller failed and I'm prepped to resolder the resistor again. In my two trips to pull the fan I have not replaced the heater core.
I figure it will not take me much time at all (2-3 hours) should the heater core go at this point. What I'd really like to do is cut and re-crimp the female sockets to the controller as I think that is the source of my problem. If anyone knows the size specification I'd like to know.
