Hardest part of troubleshooting is trying to trace all the buried wires. It'd be handy to have a device that can inject an RF signal into a line, and use a sniffer to trace out the node.
Bought a device that claimed to be for troubleshooting short circuits and it turned out to be bogus device that consisted of a resetting circuit breaker that you would apply power to, and it would continually make and break, and the "sniffer" was simply something picking up the inductive pulse generated in the wire. Should have known better, since it cost all of $15- ;)
Maybe you could do something of the sort and apply some pulsed DC through the fuse 24 socket, on the load side, and then probe around to see where it's going.
