Brake light - Trionic ECU connection Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Brake light on update, Wingerr you there, Yaofeng, Sat, 30 Apr 2005 10:29:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
From the trionic manual applicable to '94 cars (the only page that I have. from chasing a low boost problem): "When the brake pedal is depressed, battery positive is applied to pin 15 of the [trionic] control module and maximum boost pressure will then be basic charging pressure."
Diagram 6, lower right quadrant, in the Haynes manual shows this as the bold arrow leading to Diagram 2, B6 (APC Control Circuit in the Haynes, superceded by the Trionic module in later cars). If this wire is "hot" with the brake light switch disconnected, there appears to be only two places on the wiring diagram that this is coming from: the filament monitor or the trailer connection.
I believe that the Cruise Control circuit has nothing to do with the brake light switch (changed my mind from a previous post) or with your brake lights staying on; the two additional self-adjusting switches on the brake and clutch pedals (manual transmission cars) disable the Cruise function, and this is their only function.
