The mirror 'glass' is a piece of glass double-stick-foamed to a plastic backing to which a nylon twist-ring retainer is attached, this retainer has some sticky-stuff in the middle.
If your car is Of A Certain Age the sticky-stuff on your OE mirror may have given way by now anyway.
Set the mirror straight in the housing with the controls, then get a good flashlight and look up at the hole underneath the mirror, then tweak the controls until you've got a good shot at the notches in the nylon ring. Grab a screwdriver and seat it in the notch and pry the ring to the right. You might feel it go 'snap' a little. Once you've got that then you can pry the mirror loose from the motor assembly.
Make sure to get the new one seated correctly before prying its ring back to the left to latch it.
