Just about any unit will fit in the dash. If you never want/need to use the old Clarion stuff anymore, you can cut the wires off it and then splice the a new deck into these plugs which will separate from the main harness behind the dash. Otherwise, if you order from a place like Crutchfield, they will supply you the speaker and power harness plugs for free with any deck purchase (can probably buy separately, too). I have almost lost count of how many decks have sat in the dash of my 9000. I just installed one a couple months ago in fact. You'll have just over a dozen wires to splice together, which you can do using crimp on connectors (prefrably insulated so you don't need to use tape), or you could solder and heat shrink/tape if you prefer. With the removeable plug you can do this splicing on your kitchen table and just plug and play in the car.
