Taking the arm off is easier if you put the arm in its "full upright position" and then wiggle it a bit and/or pry with a screwdriver. Regarding the windshield design on the 9k; whoever designed them was obviously from the desert region of Sweden. My 87 had 2 different length wiper blades - the right one being the long one. If one tried to adjust the blades so that they would be hit by the defroster air stream, the left one will sweep completely off the windshield (people in snowbound area should know what it's like to have your blades sweep or park below the defroster air stream and freeze up). And the idea of a windshield arm making it's own grooves while being pressed on is insane. Misaligned the first time, and it's screwed up for the life of the arm, which is a long time considering their cost.
