Hi all, I was trying to change my freon above to 134a. There was no freon in the system, so i bought some o-rings and changed them, installed the adapters on the back of the compressor. Its a Sanden U8390 (R12). Low port on the suction side. I did not remove the valve core on that side. I tried to add freon with the new style retro kits with the guage on the hose. And it shows the pressure of 75 psi after the first can. And about 95 when adding the second can, the compressor was not cycling. and i thought that this pressure was showing just in the compressor and fill line, and not the system as it had not gone thur the system yet. I dont think the system was taking much freon as the first can didnt get cold except at the start. The motor was running with the ACC on auto and Low temp. Can i get freon in the system without vacuum? And do i have the service ports correct?? I found no other ports. Can i check the clutch by jumper wire? Thanks for any help.
