you are right I need to be more specific. I need to replace a 5 speed tranny in a 1990 9000s with a 2.0 engine with a 5 speed from 1992 0r 1993 9000 with a 2.3 engine. I've been to changes in transmissions web page and that is where I learn of a possible difference with axles. Is there a way to determine the size of axle hub or type without taking it apart? Is that the only possible problem? do they have the same mounting bolt pattern? is the input shafts the same? This tranny has 139,000 miles under it's belt (so to speak)the previous owner said it was fine when it was last driven 2 or 3 years ago. Any recomendations, should I put it in and drive? any know problems i should address frist. this is my first tranny r&r in a saab. Any words of wisdom would be welcome. By the way a $1500 rebuilt would break the bank at this point. thanks
