Salutations:
I have been working through a 2.3 Trionic BPC base boost problem and I hope the posts linked below will be of help to you if you are hearing a lot of BPC buzz or have base boost or erratic boost and/or overboost. I will try to put up a page sometime in the coming month with some pictures.
Provided with all the usual disclaimers and limitations and with thanks to my brother SAAB flagellants here who helped me work it out.
This information relates to all SAAB turbo Trionic models using the three line BPC valve on or around the radiator - although my experience is related to a 1993 9000 Aero. This is cross posted at 9000 board for folks there.
At the end of the day I dropped in a good quality regulator type MBC (an R-MBC?) because all I needed to do was bleed off overboost after swapping the internal BPC solenoid over to lock it on overboost instead of base boost.
This is not a perfect solution and requires careful adjustment as the seasons change - but as you will note from the final post to Henry - the solution is both inexpensive and will do the job until I can save up enough to buy a new BPC and modify it so it doesn't prematurely wear out again. Buy one for me and I'll gladly modify one for you in trade.
Cheers and good luck - flag me through my hobby site below if you have any questions or want a follow-up. If you read through the threads these links come from - you will have a better idea about how all this works yourself.
