Here's what I recall about the 2 prong connector for the blower motor. On the car/female side of the connector: One wire is live whenever the ignition is on. the other wire provides ground through the fan speed resistor. Blower motor function/speed is controlled by limiting ground through the fan speed resistor.
I have not completely followed what you did to test the motor. Have you tried checking the female end of the blower motor electrical connector to make sure one side is live with the ignition on? Is there any ground on the other wire? If there's something wrong with the ground for the fan speed resistor, the blower is not going to run at all.
I am assuming in this that if you supply 12v to one side of the blower motor (male) connector prongs and ground to the other, the motor blows like crazy.
